A live edge table keeps the natural outline of the tree it came from. No two are alike, and none can be made twice. Since 1975 we have worked with nothing else — drying, shaping and finishing every slab in our own workshop in Aichi, Japan.
Live Edge Dining Tables
Our largest collection. Tops from 1,200 mm to over 3,000 mm wide, in Japanese and imported hardwoods. You choose the slab; we fit the legs, finish the surface, and deliver it ready to live with.
Free delivery within Japan. Assembly and installation included for tops 1,200 mm and wider.
The Trees We Work With
Each species carries its own grain, weight and colour. Some are Japanese and centuries old; others come from further away. What they share is that each board is the record of one tree.

What You Pay For
The price of a slab reflects the tree it came from — its age, its rarity, and the years it spent drying before we touched it. Everything below is included in the price you see.

Delivery & Worldwide Shipping
Delivery within Japan is free of charge. For destinations outside Japan we arrange shipping on request — tell us where the table is going and we will quote it for you. Our staff can assist you in English throughout.
Okinawa, remote islands, and tops wider than 2,400 mm are quoted separately.

Do you ship outside Japan?
Yes. We arrange worldwide shipping on request. Send us your destination and the slab you have in mind, and we will provide a quote.
Do you have English-speaking staff?
Yes. You are welcome to visit, call, or book an online video consultation in English.
How long does delivery take?
About three weeks with wooden legs, and about six weeks with steel legs. Chairs take around two months. Slabs without legs ship in about one week.
Can I see the slab before I buy?
Yes — at either showroom in Aichi, or through an online video consultation from anywhere in the world.
Is every table really unique?
Yes. Each table is cut from a single tree, so its grain and its edge belong to that tree alone. It cannot be reordered.
What is included in the price?
Leg-fitting, free delivery within Japan, and one year of free repair. For tops 1,200 mm and wider, assembly and installation are included.

Our main shop features a workshop on the first floor and a showroom on the second. Walking through the workshop — where craftsmen shape each slab by hand — and into the showroom is an experience unique to KIDO MEIMOKU.

Our second showroom in Nagakute offers a curated selection of natural wood slabs. Conveniently located near the Toyota area, it's easily accessible from central Nagoya.
